pH7 Technologies named a finalist of the 2024 Start Up Energy Transitions Award

The annual SET100 list recognizes top start-ups shaping the energy transition

Vancouver, BC (February 21, 2024) pH7 Technologies (pH7), committed to the sustainable extraction of critical metals, is thrilled to announce it has been named to the esteemed list of top global companies shaping the energy transition. The annual Start Up and Energy Transitions Award (SET100) recognizes the 100 most promising climate tech and energy start-ups advancing innovative solutions and technologies to meet the urgent demands of our planet.

pH7 utilizes a closed-loop process that employs organic, inorganic and electrochemical processes to increase the supply of critical metals by recovering metals from materials destined for landfills. This disruptive process significantly reduces wastewater, prevents hazardous chemicals from entering the environment and reduces CO2e emissions to zero, while enabling the recovery of critical metals such as nickel, copper, platinum and iridium.

“It’s an honour to be listed among the most promising technologies shaping a clean future,” said Mohammad Doostmohammadi, Founder and CEO of pH7 Technologies. “This recognition validates the work we have been doing to bring to the forefront our near net-zero and cost-effective solution to the extraction of critical metals and our mission of creating a more habitable and sustainable planet for future generations.”

The SET100 List of 2024 is the 8th edition of the annual compilation profiling the best SET Award applications. The initiative was launched in 2017 in collaboration with the World Energy Council with the aim of offering young companies a platform to showcase their forward-thinking solutions.

The SET Award 2024 received 430+ applications from 75 countries across the categories of Clean Energy & Storage, Mobility & Transportation, Industry, Buildings & Construction and Quality Energy Access & SDG-7. Applicants are reviewed by an international jury of experts who selected 100 start-ups for the SET100 List of 2024.

The 15 finalists of the SET Award 2024 are drawn from 11 countries including Canada, Sweden, India, Germany, Kenya, and the United States of America. The top 15 energy start-ups vying for the top spot in their category will pitch their unique climate solutions to an international jury as part of SET Tech Festival 2024 in Berlin on March 18, 2024.
